Cameron Woodard, M.Ed.

I am the Director of TRIO Programs at UNL. I oversee 4 TRIO programs including Student Support Services, Upward Bound & Upward Bound Math Science and Educational Talent Search. I am originally from Atlanta Georgia where I served professionally as an Academic Counselor at Atlanta Metropolitan State College. Prior to becoming the TRIO Director for UNL, I served as the Program Director of TRIO Student Support Services program at Broward College. I developed 6 new TRIO SSS, to which all 6 programs met the grant goals and objectives. I am a proud graduate of Augusta University with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology, and have also obtained a Masters of Education in Counseling/Psychology from Troy University. I have worked in K-12 and Higher Education for over 15 years. I love supporting, assisting, and serving students towards pursuing their academic dreams and completion of a college degree. I am a first-generation college graduate and understand the importance of college access programs that support and assist students in overcoming barriers that can be a challenge in continuing their education.

While not a TRIO participant myself, I have worked with TRIO since 2016 both at the college and high school level. After graduating from UNL in December of 2023 with my Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science with minors in Education and Sociology it was important to me to find a way to stay connected. In my role as Project Activities Coordinator I will be handling some administrative work in the office and plan some of our larger events. I am originally from Grand Prairie, Texas but I’ve been living The Good Life in Lincoln since 2015. I’m always open to conversations about gardening, reading, art history, and thrifting.

I am the Education Specialist at Park and Lefler Middle Schools and Lincoln High School. I graduated from New York University Shanghai with a bachelor’s degree in Social Science and Interactive Media. After graduating, I moved back to Lincoln and started substitute teaching in LPS to help support teachers and students during the height of covid-19. I really love working with and being an advocate for students. I am also passionate about exploring the design and development of more equitable and ethical technology. In this direction, I work to empower our students to amplify their voices as technology is further embedded throughout society. In my free time you can find me walking my dog Sunny, swimming, or working on a creative project.

I am a recent graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where I obtained my B.S in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a minor in Ethnic Studies. During my time at UNL, I was involved in various culturally based organizations on campus, which led me to find my passion in advocating and supporting students. In my undergraduate career, I worked for TRIO SSS and ETS for two years as a student staff and mentor. I am a TRIO alum, so I have been able to experience first-hand all the great support and opportunities that these programs have to offer. As an Education Specialist, I work with students at Dawes, Goodrich, and North Star. I am thankful to be working professionally for TRIO, as I am able to advocate, serve, and support our high school and middle school students that are pursuing their passions past graduation. On my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, partner, friends, and my sweet cat, Mochi.

I recently graduated from University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and am working on a Master’s degree in student affairs. I started my work at ETS in 2021 as a student staff and decided to stay with the program after graduation. With TRIO-ETS, I am work to reach those ETS Scholars at the non-target middle and high schools, help coordinate events, and work to assist staff with things needed for the TRIO-ETS Senior Scholars. Outside of work I like to relax at home and watch movies and anime with my friends and girlfriend.
