By developing confidence and interest in math and science, TRIO’s Upward Bound Math & Science (UBMS) program prepares first-generation college and under-served scholars to pursue degrees and develop the careers of the future. UBMS currently serves 3 high schools in partnership with Lincoln Public Schools.

Step 1

Qualifications
  • Is the applicant a first-generation student (neither parent has completed a four-year college degree)?
  • OR
  • Does the applicant meet income eligibility requirements ?

Academic Eligibility
  • Is the applicant newly enrolling at one of the following schools? Or is the applicant a 9th or 10th grade student at one of the following?
    High Schools
    • Lincoln High School
    • North Star High School
    • Northeast High School
  • Does the applicant:
    • Need academic support?
    • Demonstrate potential for academic success?
    • Exhibit motivation to attend and graduate from high school?
    • Have a recommendation from a school official or community member from a church, social service agency, etc.?
