Counselors & Mentors

As a counselour or a mentor, chances are you know a student from a disadvantaged background. These students of yours may come from low-income families or they may be potential first-generation college students and some may even have disabilities. You know these students of yours hold the potential to leap frog, if they are nurtured timely with the right guidance.

We share the same objectives.

The Office of TRIO Programs, through its component programs, assists eligible students stay on course of the academic pipeline from middle school through a baccalaureate program.

Educational Talent Search (ETS) serves eligible students from middle school through high school, while Regular Upward Bound (RUB) and Upward Bound Math-Science (UBMS) caters to those in high school. The five middle schools in the Lincoln community that ETS serves are: Culler, Dawes, Lefler, Mickle, and Park. The three high schools are: Lincoln High, North Star, and Northeast. Student Support Services (SSS) serves eligible college goers who are enrolled towards their baccalaureate degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
